Using Web Service Data Control in ADF

If your ADF application needs to consume a web service, don’t worry!
It is a piece of cake when you use the Web Service Data Control.
In this post, you will learn how to do it.

Download the sample application: ADFWSDCApp.zip.

Create a new Web Service Data Control (SOAP/REST).

Name the Data Control as HRDataSource.
In the URL field, I specified the WSDL URL of the service that I created here: Expose Application Module as SOAP Web Service.

Select all operations and click Finish.

Drag the employeesView1 into the page and click OK.

Drag the createEmployees(Object) into the page as ADF Button and click OK.

Now, execute your application!

  1. Hi, What if I don’t have a WSDL? In my case I have a https URL and if I submit with a query string value it returns an XML. Thanks.
