Using the Oracle ADF Model Tester

You can use the Oracle ADF Model Tester to test and validate your ADF Business Components even before you have started to build any custom user interface. Using the Oracle Application Development Framework Documentation (8.3 Testing View Object Instances Using the Oracle ADF Model Tester), let’s do some tests.

In the Applications window, right-click Application Module and choose Run or Debug.

View Objects

In the Oracle ADF Model Tester, double-click the desired View Object node.
You can simulate an end user interacting with your Application Module without necessity to run your ADF Application.



Select the binoculars icon to test View Criteria.


Resource Message Bundle

When you have more than one Resource Message Bundle in your application, you can configure the Oracle ADF Model Tester to recognize these languages.

In the main menu, choose Tools and then Preferences.
In the Preferences dialog, expand ADF Business Components and select Tester.
In the ADF Business Components Tester page, add locales for which you have created Resource Message Bundle.


In the Application Module’s Edit Configuration, you can change the default language and country.


In the Oracle ADF Model Tester you can change the language.



ADF Business Components Debug Diagnostics

If you want to visualize everything the ADF Business Components is doing, enable ADF Business Components Debug Diagnostics.

In the Applications window, double-click Model Project.
In the Project Properties, choose Run/Debug.
In the Run/Debug page, choose Default Run Configuration and click the Edit button.
In the Launch Settings page, add the following configuration to the Java Options field.



Next time you run the Oracle ADF Model Tester you will see detailed diagnostic output in the Log window.
